Day of Laze

So I have to be honest with you -- I didn't want to write this post.  I didn't even want to bother with a title graphic, though that might change later.  We'll see.

Here's why -- I'm not angry.  Not because I don't think Sami and EJ's exits weren't ridiculous, but because I stopped caring about this show and the characters on it almost a year ago.  So the problem here is that I'm going to be serving up commentary on a show that lost my daily viewership eons ago.

Is it fair to the show?  No.  Do I give a shit?  Bigger no.  The show has treated its fans, and actor after actor, with a similar amount of fairness.  So if you're reading this now and thinking, "What right do you have to judge a show you haven't been watching regularly for a year?", I have two words for you: eat me.  It's my blog and I'll snark if I want to.  If you're determined to hang around until the bitter end, then yay!  Let's get some shit done!

You Had One Job, Days

"Sami had discovered that her 'perfect' mate, EJ, had a wandering eye and had been unfaithful to her for months.  But instead of what most women might do in such a situation: confront her disloyal husband (fiance in this case), throw a couple of vases in his direction, or go the more civilized route of seeking advice from a marriage counselor, my mother chose another direction entirely."

Let's ignore the grammar goofs and the fact that it's factually incorrect ("unfaithful to her for months"?), and let's focus on what, according to the writers of Days, most women might do if they discovered their significant other had fucked a cheese doodle.

Sex and the New Age, Bitter, Single Bitch

Ah, the internet.

Obviously, it's been a while since I last blogged.  I'm going to be frank here - I stopped watching back in November when it was clear to me that the writers decided to once again yank the rug out from under Ejami fans.  As a shipper, I was furious.  As a lover of soaps, I did an awful lot of eye-rolling.  Let's face it -- Days, as hard as they try to bring the show out of the dark ages and into the light of the 21st century (and I'm really giving them the benefit of the doubt here when I use the word "try"), are just incapable of writing for women.  But are they incapable, or just too fucking lazy to give it a shot?
